David Lee Clark, age 68, was born November 10, 1949 in New Haven, CT. He entered eternal life on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Golden Hill Rehab of Milford, CT. He attended James Hillhouse High School in 1963. In 1965, he was drafted into the Armed Services and received an Honorable Discharge in 1973. In 1974, he married his first wife, Elsie Thomas, and they had two daughters. During that time, David began working at Winchesters US Repeating Arms in New Haven, CT where he worked for over 30 years before retiring. In 1983, David attended Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C., in Hartford, CT, where he received salivation under the leadership of Dr. J.C. Haynes. In 1985, David started attending Gospel Temple Life-Changing Ministries of New Haven, CT founded by his brother, the Late Pastor Oscar Clark, Jr. who became his new pastor. David was a praying man and loved teaching others how to pray, young and old. Later on, David married his second wife Mary Brown of New Haven, CT, but separated around 2006. David Clark is the son of Helen (Morgan) Clark of New Haven, CT and the late Oscar Clark, Sr. Cherished father of Darlena (Glenn) Young of New Haven, CT, and Elisa Clark of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also survived by 8 grandchildren; Darrin, Amirah, Dajsha, Avron, and Elijah of New Haven, CT, Glenshon of Bridgeport, CT, Dontrell and Devion of South Carolina; sisters, Delores (James) Brown of Missouri, Evelyn (Thomas) Murray, and May (James) Brantley both of New Haven, CT; brothers Joseph (Jackie) Clark of North Carolina, George Clark and Henry Clark both of New Haven, CT. Predeceased by 1 brother, Oscar Clark, Jr. He will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2018 in Faith Power Development Center, 78 Plymouth Street, New Haven at 11 O’clock. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Interment will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
