Kimberly Rene’ Beard departed this life on January 14, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long battle with Sarcoidosis. Kim, as she is fondly known by family and friends, was born on March 3, 1966 in New Haven, CT to the late Vernell Beard. Kim was raised in a loving home with her mother, brother and sisters along with aunts and a host of cousins. Kim was educated in New Haven, Connecticut. She graduated from Wilbur Cross High School. In addition, she graduated as a Medical Assistant from Everest Institute located in Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for several years. As a CNA, Kim worked in numerous nursing homes, but she mainly worked private duty cases. A longtime resident of New Haven, CT she raised her three children, Shatia, David and Ashley McCall who all were still living at home. She was a loving and great mother and grandmother, with a steady guiding hand in her children’s lives. Kim enjoyed shopping, reading and cleaning. Kim had a passion for music. She often said that music soothed her soul. She enjoyed going to concerts. Kim loved to socialize and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be forever missed, but she will never be forgotten. Kim is survived by her daughters Shatia McCall and Ashley McCall and son David McCall, Jr. all from New Haven, CT, two granddaughters Mate’a Wilson and Brooklyn Cannon-McCall, grandson Marcal Little; brother Charles Harris of New Haven, CT, four sisters, Debra (Michelle) Beard Chase (Chris), Tracey Beard Glenn, Lasonya Beard and Crystal Beard, all from New Haven, CT, two aunts, Laverne Aleman of New Haven, CT and Gloria Malone of Houston, TX; two uncles David Beard and Dana Anthony Beard (Gwen) both of Gastonia, NC; a Special Dear Friend Robert Goldsmith, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Kim was predeceased by her loving mother, Vernell Beard and sister Robin Harris.
