As much as it pleased the Almighty God in His wise providence to take out of our midst our dearly beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, the Almighty God sent His angel to claim her. Arlenda Gail Briggs of 819 Sherman Parkway, New Haven, Connecticut, peacefully transition on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Arlenda Gail Briggs was born on April 22, 1956 in Wilmington, North Carolina, to Fannie F. Briggs Manning and the late Eugene Manning. Gail, as she is affectionately called by her mother, Mrs. Fannie, was blessed with a daughter, Markesha Briggs. She is the sister of Edward Gregory Manning, Allen Fitzgerald Manning and the late Celeste Briggs. Arlenda received her education in the Meriden School District, Meriden Connecticut. After graduation, she furthered her education receiving her Certificate of Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA). Arlenda was employed by Whitney Center, a senior loving community serving Hamden and the Greater New Haven Area, until her retirement. Arlenda Gail Briggs leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Fannie F Briggs Manning; her daughter, Markesha Briggs; two brothers, Edward Gregory Manning and Allen Fitzgerald Manning; nieces and nephews, Edward Manning, Robert Bell, LaShelia Manning, Kariesa Manning, Jarvis Manning; great niece Jayla Manning; her extended sibling, Janice Cooper, and a host of family members and friends. Arlenda was predeceased by her father, Eugene Manning and her sister, Celeste Briggs. Arlenda was also predeceased by her extended family in Meriden, Connecticut, John and Dorothy Cooper.
