Barbara J. Allen

A memorial service will be held at Walnut Hill Community Church, 274 Bunker Hill Avenue, Waterbury CT 06708 on Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. All are welcome to attend. Ms. Barbara J. Allen of 222 Bradley Ave, Waterbury CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15 2022 in her home. Barbara was born February 17, 1963 to the late Cleveland Jackson and Loretta Allen in Stamford, CT. Barb (or Barbara Jean as she was called) was a very loving and caring woman. She was a Christian whose attendance at Kingdom 1st in Waterbury was always noticed. Barbara completed her education here in the Waterbury Public School System. Later in life Barbara worked in various school cafeterias through a DSS program for the disabled.

Many will remember and smile when hearing her name. Barbara was seriously in love with all of the human race no matter who you were.  Barbara loved music, television, and caring for children. Barbara loved to spend time with family and would hug and kiss all who came near to her, whether you wanted it or not. Barbara also spent the last 10 years of her life with her significant other, Mr. Anthony “Tizzo” Byrd. The two were more than in love. They cared for each other in the most wonderful way.

Barbara leaves behind many who will cherish her memory. These include three beloved children, Donna Allen, David Allen, and Sharell Allen – all of Waterbury; her six sisters Yvonne Goodwin, Donna Beamon, Julia Allen, Margie Allen, Charlean Allen, Lakeshia Allen – all of Waterbury; two brothers Claudis Goodwin and Master Sergeant David Allen – both of Waterbury; eight grandchildren and a great host of nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle, cousins, and friends. Barbara was predeceased by her son Terriel Allen, her brother Lawrence Goodwin, and both of her parents.
