Calvin “Keith” Walton

Loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend;

Calvin Keith Walton, 50, passed away on April 10, 2020 in Waterbury, CT. He was born in Waterbury, CT on May 22, 1969, son of Elnora Walton and the late Calvin S. “Billy Preston” Walton.

The way he died is the way he lived: he wrote his own rules and paved his own way. And if you said he couldn’t do it, he would make sure he did. He was a person who would do anything to make a person feel loved, whether you were family or not. If we could describe him in one word, it would be LOVING.

Keith had a passion for music, specifically spinning the records. He will be remembered as one of the Supreme Gladiators and will always be DJ Kool Keith. Along with making people dance to his old skool music, he hosted a back to school community event every year for school age children.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons Json (Tiffany) Gomes, Terrance Bell, Darrien Bell-Walton, and Jordan Antrum of Waterbury; his daughters, Zhane Gomes-Walton, NaJhai Gomes-Walton of Terryville, CT and Gianna Tommone-Walton of Waterbury; his beloved granddaughters, Kamryn Gomes, Mila Stenson, Heaven Bell, and Dalyss Armstrong and a grandson Xzavior Stenson.

Keith leaves his brothers Tony (Carolyn) Thomas of Ohio, Steven Parker of California and Asa Walton, Sevic Walton and Bernard Riddick of Waterbury, CT and a brother-in-law Stephen Notice of Florida; his sisters Virginia “Boop” Ecklin of Waterbury, CT and Deborah Green of Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings, Roderick Thomas, Carol Parker and Brenda Notice.

He leaves behind a special Uncle Nathaniel “Sonny” Ecklin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
