David Edward Connelly Sr, age 75 of Norwich, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Backus Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1944 in Bridgeport, son of the late Dr. Harold and Claire Connelly and Beloved husband of Julie Connelly for over 41 years. In addition to his wife survivors include: three children, David Jr. (Krystal) of Glastonbury, Dwayne (Angelique) of Florida and Jordana (Michael) of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Liam, Cole, Devon, Anthony, McKenna, Hannah and Noah; a brother, Hal and his wife Pat of Stratford, CT; a sister, Gail of Maine; several nieces and nephews, a multitude of friends and family, The Rubix Kube Family, The Idol Kings Family and “The Boys” – Rupert, Rueben and Fievel.
David started his career in the music business at age 20 by managing several local bands in CT. At 27 years old he became the assistant road manager for the “Carpenters” traveling throughout the world. In 1975 he became the Road Manager for Isaac Hayes for tours throughout the US and Australia. In 1976 he signed Julie Grant to become her personal manager and in 1978 they were married. In 1995 he started David Connelly Productions Inc. with Julie as a booking/management company and signed the Hip hop group “Fat Bag” subsequently winning “the Boston Music Awards” two times as the Best Hip Hop Act and in 1998 was signed to a five-album recording contract and publishing deal to Stepsun/Interscope records. Since 1995 David and Julie have been working together booking venues throughout the USA as well as managing the careers of several Groups and Artists.
