Deborah graduated from James Hillhouse High School and went on to pursue her Associates Degree from South Central Community College. Deborah was a loving, God-fearing and kindhearted person. She loved to spend time with her friends and family and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Family members remember her especially for her laughter. She was extremely social and loved to sit and chat with her friends. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed passing the time listening to gospel music or reading her Bible. She was also known for her impeccable style and eye for fashion and decoration. When she got dressed, she was dressed to the T. In high school she was even named “Best Dressed Female Model”and even made her own clothes. Her passion for life also inspired her love of travel. She was known to pick up and go without fear. In doing so she spent time living in California, South Carolina and Connecticut, and occasionally would travel for work. In her professional career she enjoyed working withtroubled children and did so for most of her life. This included time working with children at daycares in her younger years and later residential homes and adolescent centers. Most important to Deborah was her love of family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished. They were the light of her life.

Deborah is survived by her youngest son Albert (Justice) Dickerson. Deborah also leaves behind her beloved grand babies: Candace Edwards-Dickerson, Jessica MonayeDickerson, Justice Asher Dickerson and Ashlyn Grace Dickerson; and great-grand baby: Jefferey Thompson; God Son: James Hunter.

Deborah is also survived by three sisters, Laura Fulmore (late Louis Fulmore), Jannie (Diane) Linton , and baby sister who adored her, Gwendolyn (Gladys) Lockman (Dwayne); and two brothers, Mark Dickerson and Franklin Dickerson. Surviving nephews are Raymond Fulmore, Warren Wicks, Eddie Dickerson, Raymond Frasier, Steven Dickerson, Jr., Eric Johnson, Spencer Gaskin, Jr., Warren Wicks, Jr.; and surviving nieces are Ann Fulmore, April Dickerson, Stefanie Dickerson, Shantelle Dickerson, Shyrese Gaskins, and Catherine Wicks.
