Donald Walker, 63, of New Haven, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on May 6th, 2023 at St. Raphael’s Hospital. Donald was born on June 11th, 1959 to Nora Kirkland and Howard Blanchard in Bronx, NY. After attending Stamford High School, he worked most of his career as a driver. Donald enjoyed working with the youth of his church and considered going back to school to become a counselor. In 2016, Donald met Gloria Hailey through a friend at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Haven, CT. They fell in love almost instantly and got married on May 15, 2021. Donald was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Donald was a loving man who enjoyed walks by the beach, spending time with his children, listening to music, and reading. Donald was a lover of God, and very active in his church. Anyone who knew Donald knew that he was the most loving father and spouse a family could ask for. Donald was predeceased by his mother, Nora, and father Howard. He is survived by his wife Gloria, four kids, Christopher Baines, Samuel Baines, Donald and Brianna Walker alongside his sibling Hattie Jean-Kirkland.

Services will be held on Saturday May 20th, 2023 promptly starting at 10am in Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall Street, Hamden, CT 06517.
