The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. for viewing and Funeral services will begin at 11.am at the Apostolic Community Church, 146 Center Street, Meriden, CT. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Doreon Courtenay Moss Sr, 53, departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2020 with his family by his side in Shippensburg Pennsylvania. Doreon was born on June 5, 1966 in Waterbury,CT. He was the seventh of eight children born to Rev. Judy (Hoffler) Moss and the late Eddie L. Moss Sr.
Doreon leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 31 years, Amanda Robinson-Moss, his two children, daughter, Miesha Moss and her husband Doron Geiger, and son, Doreon C. Moss Jr. He will be dearly missed by his two grandsons that were his joy, Armani and Xavier Geiger. Doreon leaves behind his brothers Eddie, Darnell, Darryl, Dante and his wife Crystal. He leaves behind his only sister Sophia and her husband Carlos Vargas, sisters-in-law, Marla Early-Moss, Sioban Robinson & Priscilla Robinson, brothers-in-laws, Max Robinson & Ricky Robinson. He also leaves his beloved niece Judyya Moss Chisolm, father-in-law, Hodges Robinson, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & a host of cousins. Doreon was predeceased by his brothers David and Douglas and sister-in-law Antoinette Robinson. He graduated from Orville H. Platt High School, class of 1984 where he was a defensive end on the varsity football team. He attended South Central Community College and then he went on to continue his studies at Southern CT State University where he majored in Accounting. Doreon was employed by Geodis of Chambersburg, PA as a Warehouse Analyst. Doreon was a member of Apostolic Community Church, where he served as an usher, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and financial secretary prior to moving to Pennsylvania. Doreon enjoyed going to the beach, reading, shopping, travelling, spending time at the museums, amusement parks and the zoo. Before joining the church and giving his life to God, he would enjoy the nightlife. Doreon will forever be remembered for his reassuring smile and unending patience!
