Edith Rebecca Taylor- Spencer departed this world om April 22, 2021. She was the third child of four children born to the late Genevieve Osborn- Taylor and Thomas Taylor. She was born in New Haven, CT on February 13, 1947. She attended New Haven Public Schools, Winchester elementary, Bassett Junior High and Hillhouse High School.

Edie was a healthcare worker who spent many years working at Clifton Healthcare on Clifton St. in New Haven, CT. She also worked for the Connecticut Department of Transpiration. In later years she resumed her job as a healthcare worker by caring for individuals privately. Edie loved to sing and enjoyed having fun with her family. She loved giving people the strangest nick names. She was a fun-loving person and she will be truly missed.

Edie was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Spencer and her 3 brothers Thomas, Edward, and Russell Taylor. She leaves to rejoice her life her daughters and their families; Karen Taylor-Bostic, husband Jacob Bostic III. Edies grandchildren and greatgrandchildren by Karen are Kaiwaun Taylor, daughter Kaionna Taylor of Hamden, CT. Chiallis Taylor, daughter Jaila Taylor of West Haven, CT. And Lorynn Frazier, daughter Kae’Dyn Miller of New Haven, CT. Daughter, Brenda Taylor (Andre Allen). Edie’s grandchildren and greatgrandchildren are by Brenda are, Gerron Taylor of New Haven, CT. Geanae Taylor son, Derron Butler, daughter Ka’Miyah Taylor of New Haven, CT. Andre Allen, Jr (wife, Ninoshika Allen) daughters Dreyonna Allen, and Nya’Lee DeLeon of New Haven, CT. And Stevanah Hicks of New Haven CT. Daughter Monica Taylor-Matthews (aka Lucy Mae Brown), husband WilliamMatthews. Edie’s grandchildren and greatgrandchildren by Monica are Jar’Mel Damon Taylor, (wife, Brittany Chatia-Taylor), sonJar’Mel Damon Taylor, Jr. of Nottingham, MD. Jaheim Matthews of New Haven, CT. Edie is also celebrated by a host of relatives and friends.
