A Celebration of Irma’s life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden Ct. Viewing will be from 10am-12pm. Funeral Services starting at 12pm. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Irma Ivette Martinez-Garcia, beloved mother, daughter, grandmother and friend, passed away on November 24, 2023 at the age of 52 in New Haven, CT. She was born on January 28, 1971 to her parents, Migdalia Garcia and Samuel Martinez. Irma was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. Throughout her life, Irma had a passion for coloring, playing cards, listening to music, and taking care of her children and many others who came into her life. She found joy in the simple things and always had a smile on her face. Irma was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, Kenia Burgos, Angelica Burgos, and Erik Lopez. A devoted grandmother to Macho, Miya, Jiraiya, Bella, and Karter. She was their biggest supporter and always encouraged them to do their best in anything they looked forward to. Irma was a woman full of laughter and took pride in everything she did. She had a strong belief in helping those she cared for and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Irma was a fighter in her own right. She faced life’s challenges with courage and determination, never giving up. She will be remembered for her strength and resilience. Irma’s life partner, Felix Burgos, preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by her children, as well as her parents, siblings, and extended family members.
