James “Jim” Ronald Zarro, 63, a lifelong resident of Hamden, entered into eternal rest on December 12th, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 17, 1953, the son of the late Alphonse and Elvira (Pascale) Zarro, he spent the past 43 years with his beloved wife, Maryann (Carbone) Zarro. He was the cherished father of James (Kate) Zarro of Seymour, and Michael (Diana) Zarro of Hamden and the loving brother of Ronald (Elaine) Zarro of Clinton, and Debbie (Joseph) Vermiglio of Hamden. He was a loved uncle to 6 nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as Grampa Z by Madison Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC. Jim began his career as a mechanic and retired from the Town of Hamden as a Supervisor after 26 years. He worked a second career with the Greater New Haven WPCA as an inspector for the past 11 years. He had a love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and Nascar. He was a good friend to many and will be missed dearly.
