Johnnie “J-Love” Howard passed away on May 8, 2023, at 59 years old, in New Haven, Connecticut. He succumbed to his injuries following a car accident in recent months. This display showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Johnnie became a hero despite the pain and stayed strong until the end.
He leaves behind to mourn his beloved daughter Joi Unique Howard and significant other Darlene Ross, both of New Haven, Connecticut. Johnnie also leaves to mourn Etta Sherman, Clinton Howard, Barbara Johnson, Lena Jones, Walter Norris, Ricky Howard (Debra) Yvette Lewis, Anna Howard-Spruill (Tijae) Consuelo Howard, William Howard (Megan), along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Johnnie was predeceased by his mother, Arwilde (Howard) Windley, his father, Leroy McKinley & brother Lowell Howard.
Johnnie obtained his GED and was an ordained minister. He worked as a contractor for home improvements. Johnnie was a jack of all trades and the life of the party. Johnnie loved fishing and cooking. All who encountered him shared laughs, smiles, and, best of all, memories. He will be deeply missed.
