Jordan Je'mar Agnew

A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Matthews Church, 400 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT. A viewing will be held from 9:00am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Flower donations can be sent directly to St.Matthew’s Church.

Jordan Je’mar “Mousey” Agnew was born June 27th, 1990 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the second son of parents Valerie Fagin and Jeffrey Agnew Sr. Jordan graduated from James Hillhouse High School in 2008 and attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island where he majored in Business Accounting.

As a child Jordan played little league baseball for Walter Pop Smith where he developed a competitive streak and motivation to win that he carried into adulthood. As a teenager Jordan played football for Troup Middle School and Hyde Leadership Academy. Jordan held multiple long-term jobs, his first being at Yale University at the age of sixteen. Jordan was a young entrepreneur and vehicle enthusiast which lead him to become a self-employed partner of “Run It Up Motors LLC”. Jordan enjoyed spending time with his children, watching sports with his father, going out with friends, taking pictures and riding his ATV. Jordan was very popular and always stayed close to his roots in the Ashmun street neighborhood where he was given other nicknames such as “Mighty Mouse” or “Mighty” for short.

In addition to his parents, Jordan is survived by his maternal Grandmother Gail Heard and paternal Grandparents Jesse and Betty Agnew. He also leaves three siblings; brother, Jeffrey Agnew Jr. and sisters Jyne’ (Leighton) Vanderbergh and Erica Agnew (Greenville, Indiana). Jordan has three beautiful children; son, Jayden Loyd (nine), and daughters Jordyana (eight) and Jalyn (seven months) Agnew; that will forever honor their father’s memory. Prior to passing Jordan found solace in significant other and life partner Lyasia Loyd. Jordan has one nephew, Lennox Vanderbergh that he will forever protect and watch over. He also leaves behind devoted aunts: Yvonne Agnew, Yvonne Heard, Twona Jenkins (St.Helena, South Carolina) and uncles: John Greene Jr. Andre and Rossi Agnew.

Jordan was predeceased by his maternal Grandfather Joseph Fagin, cousins Kahson “Shawnie” Douglas Jr, Lavon “Nookie” Agnew, Derick Moore and best friend Norman “J.R.” Boone.

Jordan will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
