A celebration of Jyineez’s life will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Mt Hebren Baptist Church at 9am. Viewing will be in church from 8-9am. Interment will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed a Colonialfunerals.com.

Jyineez Shamik Cruz entered into this world August 25, 2000 and left us unexpectedly on August 22,2021.

Jynineez who his family and friends affectionately called “Neez”, loved his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music, drawing, cooking, playing basketball and football. His favorite football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed his collections of reptiles. Neez would chase his mother through the house for laughs.

Neez asked Christ into his heart at the age of 6 and became a junior usher at Mount Hebron in Meriden, CT until the age 12. His favorite scripture was Deuteronomy 31:6” Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God who goes with thee: he will not fail thee, nor forsake you”.

Neez graduated from Orville H Platt High School a year early. He had dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. His business plan was tucked away in his bible along with his favorite scriptures. He was employed by Ramirez Drywall/Branciforte Drywall LLC at the age of 17. Nez just registered for fall classes at Porter and Chester School for their Automotive program. He would have been one step closer to accomplishing one of his dreams.

Jyineez was predeceased by his (Materna)l grandfather Earl Williams, his (paternal) grandfather James Cruz, and his brother Kashawn and uncle Arnold Barnes.

He leaves to mourn his mother Aisha Barnes, Father James Cruz, his brothers Dimerki, Kymere and sister Legacy who he named. Gina Barnes (maternal) grandmother and Patricia Cruz (paternal) grandmother. His friends Anthony Sanders and Douglas Moore and longtime girlfriend Najhea Smith. He also leaves a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
