Kenneth Earl Mourning was called to heaven on August 30, 2021. He was born on December 31, 1966 in Danbury, Connecticut to Yvonne McCrea and the late Kenneth Smith.

He was united in holy matrimony to Harly B. Mourning on April 9, 1994. This union was blessed with five children.

While growing up Kenneth enjoyed music, DJ-ing, breakdancing, and playing video games. He furthered his love for music by teaching himself how to play the piano. Kenneth kept a lifelong love for competition and sports that he instilled in his children. He coached and encouraged them in basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. Kenneth worked as a skilled contractor, specializing in drywall, sheetrock, and taping. This led Kenneth to start RealTec Drywall, LLC. He had other business ventures, such as assembling computers and stock trading. Kenneth’s other hobbies included bicycling, taking walks, camping, hiking, and going to the beach.

Kenneth was a kind, loving, and empathetic soul. He was our family’s peacemaker. He had a strong passion for helping others in whatever way he could. Kenneth was a doting father, faithful son, adored brother and uncle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Harly B. Mourning; his children: Brigette (Christopher) Rogers, Kenneth A. (Marie) Mourning, Isabella K. Mourning, Nicholas K. Mourning, and Joshua E. Mourning; mother Yvonne McCrea; sister Mary (Trevor) Hicks.  He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Charles Knight III and maternal grandmother Mary McCrea.
