Kevin Anthony Cunningham, AKA “Tony” was born on August 21, 1964 to Norris Partee and Norma Holmes Cunningham in Chicago Heights Illinois.  He grew up in Chicago Heights along with his three brothers: Terrance (his twin), Norris and Dana. In high school, Tony was on the wrestling team. He wrestled at the 126 pound weight class, and was called a “tenacious competitor” by his coaches.  He reminded his brothers of this fact often!  He took 3rd place in the State Tournament for his weight class during his Freshmen year in 1978 at Bloom Township High School. At the age of 18, he moved to Connecticut to live with his mother, step-father Edward Buster, and siblings Brian & Karin. Over the years, Tony held many jobs in both the food and maintenance industries.  Out of all the jobs he held, being a baker was his absolute favorite.  Baking gave him a real sense of pride. He enjoyed explaining to anyone who would listen, the step-by-step process of making baked goods. He was good at baking and he knew it!  One of his first baking jobs was at Dunkin Donuts. He would get up very early to go to work every day, and got a kick out of saying, “time to make the donuts”.  Tony played cello and a little piano. A couple of songs he loved to play were: “Easy Like Sunday Morning” and “I Just Want To Thank You God”.  He was extremely smart, very articulate, and was an excellent chess player.  He amazed his friends, some of whom were Yale graduates, but could not beat him at chess.  But his greatest achievement is that He always looked for ways he could help someone else – even when he couldn’t help himself. Family meant everything to him. He often spoke about his family. He was especially fond of his daughter Riley who was his heartbeat.  Tony asked Jesus to come into his heart at a young age.  He loved the Lord with all of his heart and soul. He enjoyed reading the bible and often carried it with him.  He attended a few churches over the years, but in 2007, he joined Trinity Baptist Church which became his church home. He connected with everyone, no matter what their status.  He was equally comfortable with a physician, an attorney, as well as the man on the street. Tony is survived by his Mother: Norma Holmes Cunningham Buster, Brothers: Terrance Anthony Cunningham, Norris Cunningham, Dana Cunningham and Brian Buster. Sisters: Kim Partee Burnette and Karin Gatison. Daughter:  Riley Hall.  God Daughter: Keana Albright, whom he loved as his very own.  He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Norris Partee and his Step-Father Edward Buster.
