Regina Marie Peters, also known as Gina, Pumpkin, and Gin-Gin, transitioned on May 5th, 2023 at the age of 53 in New Haven, CT. She was surrounded by her loved ones, including her fiancé, Darnell Morton and her dog, Pepper. Regina was born on August 8, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio to Margaret Carr, who precedes her in death along with her sister Wanda Carr, who also proceeds her in death. Regina is survived by her brother Eric Carr and sisters, Donna Baxter and Bernice Herring, wife of Robert Herring. Regina was a loving mother to her six children Devon Cogswell, Daphne Cogswell, Daren Cogswell Jr., Tene’a Peters, Timothy Peters Jr., and Tyler Peters. She will also be continuing her legacy through her  12 grandchildren with one soon to come in late 2023, as well as  one great-grandchild. In her free time, Regina  enjoyed fun hobbies including bowling, rollerskating, watching movies, reading, and writing. She had an adventurous spirit, and was always up for trying new things, especially if it involved being  with her love ones. Regina was a compassionate, charismatic, admirable woman of God who left her footprints in the sands for others to follow. A shining light who was always willing to lend a helping hand, she never failed to leave an impression that was anything less than  indelible.  Despite untimely challenges,  Regina displayed bravery, grace and poise throughout her momentous life and will always be in loving memory by those who knew her.

A celebration of Regina’s life will be held on Thursday may 18, 2023 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden CT at 11am. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
