Rev. Glenroy C. Gardner

A celebration of life for Rev. Glenroy C. Gardner will held on Saturday December 5, 2020 at The Colonial Funeral Home 270 West Main St. Waterbury, CT, with James R. Sanders Funeral Director.  Calling hour will be 11am- 12pm. Service will be held immediately at Noon. COVID-19 mandates will be honored. Masks will be required.

Rev. Glenroy C. Gardner, Age 62, husband of Hyacinth Crooks Gardner, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Rev. Gardner was born October 8, 1958 in Kingston, Jamaica.  He was son of the late Samuel Gardner and Winifred Carnish both of Jamaica.

Rev. Gardner and his family moved to Waterbury, CT in 1990. He was a machine operator for Timken Company for over 20 years.

Rev. Gardner was a disciple and one of the ministers of Mt. Carmel Shiloh C.O.G in East Hartford Connecticut. Rev. Gardner conducted evangelistic outreach work at Village Green of Waterbury.  Teaching the word of God to the nursing home residents was what he enjoyed and looked forward to doing. Rev. Gardner was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.  He loved to bring joy, through speaking God’s word and his cooking. He also had a huge sense of humor and loved to laugh with everyone he met.

Rev.Glenroy Gardner is survived by his  loving wife of 35 years, Hyacinth Gardner of Connecticut; three sons: Oren (Melanie) Stephens, Christopher Gardner all of Connecticut and Dermaine (Melissa) Gardner of Jamaica; Two daughters: Nerrisa Watson-Brown of and Glenesha Gardner  both of Connecticut;  Six sisters : Jean (Loyd) Rattigan , Annette Ellis both of Georgia, Carol (Christopher)Hamilton, Beverly Mills  all of Canada, Rosemarie (Windel)Blair of Florida and Laverne Lowe; three brothers: Michael(Marie)Gardner, Carl (Delores) Gardner, Ron Gardner all of New York . Rev. Gardner had 8 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.  Rev. Gardner was predeceased by a brother Earl Brown.
