Theresa “Love” Wright, 46, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at home. Love as she was called received her formal education in the New Haven Public School Systems. At the time of her passing she was employed at Green Home Care as a Patient Care Assistant. Love had a nurturing spirit and enjoyed taking care of her clients. In her free time, she loved dancing, singing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. A bona-fide fashionista, Love enjoyed shopping for the latest fashions. Most of all, she enjoyed life and having a good time. She had a smile and laugh that was so infectious that you just had to join in.

On January 15, 2010, after enduring a long battle with heart disease, Love became a heart transplant recipient. Her new heart was gifted to her from Casey Moore, daughter of Walter and Julie Moore of Florida. Receiving her new heart ignited a new flame within her, and her zest for life was restored with each beat.

Love was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many. She leaves to mourn her sons: Ma’trell, Marquell, and Montell Wright; her mother Emma Wright; sisters: Alfreda Youmans, Berniece Hunter, Cecelia Darden, Angela W. Brooks of New Haven, Stacia and Stephanie Wright of Mass; brothers: Alfred (Earnestine) Allen, Keith Hunter, Shawn, Kareem, Lamaar, Eric and Demetrius (Yvette) Wright of California; step-siblings: Sabrina, Monique and Alonztrae Yancey; granddaughter Saniyah Freeman of Georgia, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special relationships: Helen Hunter, Andre Massenburg, Travis Hallett and a most cherished niece, Yonsha Solomon. She is predeceased by her father, Alonzo Wright, Sr, Albert Youmans, son, Marquis Wright, and brothers Alonzo Wright, Jr. and Paul Albright.
