A Celebration of Tiffany’s life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11am, at Zion Baptist Church, 137 Pearl Street, Waterbury CT. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
Ms. Tiffany Lakia James, 40, of Waterbury, CT passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Hartford Hospital on October 26th, 2023. She was born on July 20th, 1983, in Waterbury, CT. Tiffany was the daughter of Carla Montaque and the late Robert James Sr. She attended the Waterbury public school system for Elementary and Middle school. She obtained her high school diploma at Kaynor Tech where she learned culinary as a trade. Tiffany continued her education at Post University. She was a hard worker who worked for many years at Stop and Shop, Walmart, and as a home healthcare worker through Allied Community Resources. Tiffany was a people person who was loved by many. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, where she sang in the young people’s choir. Tiffany loved her family, especially her niece Makayla and nephew Dale Jr. If you knew Tiffany than you would know she loved her music, she was extremely Tech savvy (she could fix anything that involved electronics), she loved her T.V shows (Golden girls, Wayans Brothers, Martin, Law & order, Criminal minds, and Living Single), she loved sightseeing, and traveling. Tiffany played a huge part in participating and volunteering her services at the annual Oleskool community cookout at Lakewood Park. Tiffany was known to be a comedian in the family, she could impersonate anyone. Although her laugh was contagious, her smile would light up the room. She had a heart of gold which consisted of her being selfless and always putting others before herself. She was a special human being whose presence will be missed dearly.
She leaves to mourn her memory; her devoted mother Carla Montaque, her stepfather Ervin Montaque Sr., 3 sisters Stacia Montaque of Watertown, CT, Danielle James of Latham NY, and Sandra James of Rensselaer NY, 4 brothers Ervin Montaque Jr. of Cape Coral Florida, Dexter (Diane) James of Hudson OH, Robert (Kristy) James Jr. of Conway SC, Thomas (Rebecca) James of Myrtle Beach SC, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother Beatrice Ireland, maternal grandfather John Pope, uncle Kelvin Sandelin, uncle Nathaniel Pope, uncle Ervin Sands, her father Robert James Sr., paternal grandmother Margaret James, paternal grandfather Bradley James, aunt Wilhelmina James, uncle Alfred James, uncle Otis James, and uncle James (Scooter) James.
