Timothy Vaughntel McKiver, affectionately known as “Tim” was born on September 23, 1987 in New Haven Connecticut. Tim received his formal education in the states of Connecticut and New Jersey. In June of 2006, Tim graduated from The Burlington County Institute of Technology with his high school diploma and a certificate in in Diesel Mechanics. His love for learning was demonstrated in his achievement in Math and English. Growing up, Tim was reared to fear God and attended church regularly with his family. At times he would speak of the spiritual mentors, that over his years of growing up, were influential in his life. Tim was fortunate to learn many skills through various jobs of employment., including his last months of being a fork – lift driver. Tim was funny, generous, and always willing to provide a helping hand to anyone in need of math tutoring. Not only did tutoring afford him spending money in high school, it provided him a chance to leave a lasting impression on all he instructed. The lasting impression reigns true to this day, and all he had the chance to encounter knew that they were in the presence of a kind, patient, and hilarious man. Tim could light up an entire room with his laugh and could make any stranger feel comfortable. He had no shame starting conversations with strangers by cracking on the person next to them. He did it to bring a smile to any person who was shy and made everyone else feel comfortable and like a longtime friend. He also loved sports and unashamedly rooted for his favorite football and basketball teams. He wasn’t quiet about putting down anyone else’s team either. It was all fun and games, as long as his team won. He loved his family deeply and often expressed it. He took delight in surrounding himself with his loved ones, spending time with them, and having fun. Though on the outside, one may have seen a big manly man, it wouldn’t take long to realize that he was a Teddy Bear. Tim was filled with the spirit of strength, warmth, and love. His chuckling laughter and “don’t try to play me dog,” will forever be engraved in our hearts. Timothy is preceded in death by his mother Layona Cherie Franklin.
A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 in Bethel Apostolic Church, 520 East Main St. Middletown, CT at 1 p.m. Viewing in Church from 12-1p.m. Condolences may be expressed at
