Toussaint demtre Farquharson aka “ Mafia” aka “Zuzu
March 16th 2000- May 5th 2023
How does one capture a life?
Especially a life so rewarding that was filled with love and laughter, A precious life that began on March 16th at the Spanish town hospital located in St.Catherine, Jamaica to parents Ms. Kelethia Reams, Glenroy Farquharson Toussaint was the pride and joy for Kell being her 1st child and 2nd child for Glenroy. Toussaint spend his earlier childhood days in Portmore, St.Catherine where kicking boxes pretending to be a baller was the highlight of his day, he received his education at Epsom Basic School and then went on to Naggo Head Primary School,Toussaint received most of his high school education at Bridgeport High School. Toussaint spent the majority of his early years residing between his mother and his Aunt Karlene. However, when his mom relocated, he spent a year living with his dad before going back to live with his Aunt. Toussaint migrated to United States of America in 2020 in the height of covid, masks and all to join his mother and sister after living apart for a few years. It was then Toussaint met his girlfriend Kimberly in 2020 and they share a true and deep connection. Toussiant shared many passions in life including his love for football and music. It was through his music that he gained the name “Mafia”. Toussaint loved to dress “the man eva clean” inna him Nautica and Ralph Lauren Polo fits. One thing about Jamaicans our image is important, Toussaint life was built around his friends, he truly loved and valued them deeply.
Toussaint had many dreams, one of his many dreams was to be a Musician he even made a hit song called He also dreamt of traveling the world countries such as Dubia, Mexico and Dominican Republic. If you knew Toussaint, you would know he never wanted to be in one place for too long unless it was to play videos games. One of his regular routine was to called his mom every other day and say to her “wah a gwaan mi working class mada beg yuh a thing nuh, that was Toussaint and if mommy don’t work of course Grandma Amanda to the rescue, he always talked about how much he wanted to show his gratitude to his Mom, Grandma and Aunt Karlene for everything that they have done for him especially all the money he begged, oh sorry! “I mean borrowed”. From his Grandma, but you know how Grandson is with Grandma, Toussaint was definitely living his version of the Amercian dream were he would consume at least 4 Dunkin Donuts, bacon egg and cheese sandwich every morning but not before he smoked at least 5 blunts, I wanna say 2 but that would be a lie, weed was breakfast, lunch and dinner for Zuzu, What can I say Zuzu loved him weed and Hennessy which he can never drink off, I guess its just a posing thing.
On the morning of May 5th, 2023, Toussaint was heading to work where he met in a tragic car accident. Though we mourn for him and his early departure we know that he lived a life that impacted many. Just thinking about him you can see his bright smile. Toussaint aka Zuzu aka Mafia was always smiling, a big genuine smile all 32 teeth showing.
Toussaint is survived by his Mother Kelethia Reams, Father Glenroy Farquharson, brothers Javoy and Chevaughn, Sister Kathelia, Aunt Karlene Rhone , Girlfriend Kimberly,Grandparents Ms.Amanda Roman and Mr. Ronald Lawrence Aunts, Uncles and a host of Cousins and friends.
“To those who knew Toussaint, even for a little while, know they lost a shining light”.
