Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11am at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd., Waterbury. Wake will be held on Wednesday night at Colonial Funeral Home, 270 West Main St., Waterbury from 5-7pm.
Yvonne Lucille Carter of Warrenton, NC transitioned into eternal rest on June 17, 2020. Yvonne was born on October 8, 1953 to the late Alphonse Carter Sr. and Hazel Taylor Carter of Waterbury, CT, and lived there until 1973, then moving to Bridgeport, CT from 1973 to 2006. She was education in the Waterbury, CT public school system. Yvonne transferred to Warrenton, NC in 2006 to be a caretaker for her aunt, the late Jessie Mae Taylor Talley. Yvonne was a retired employee of BIC PEN COMPANY, Milford, CT. Yvonne was a member of The East End Tabernacle Baptist Church, Bridgeport, CT where she served on the Senior Usher Ministry and a member of Macon Second Baptist Church of Macon, North Carolina. She was a member of NAOMI #28 ORDER OF EASTERN STAR, Bridgeport, CT; ORDER OF EASTERN STAR, DBA REBECCA CHAPTER II, VA where she served as secretary and treasurer. She was an active member of the NAACP of Warrenton, North Carolina.
Yvonne leaves to mourn their loss, a brother, Alphonso Carter, Jr. (Jessica), Ansonia, CT; a niece, Hazel Carter of Warner Robins, GA; nephews, Alphonso Carter, III of Arkansas and Alonzo Carter of Ansonia, CT; a dear and devoted cousin, Clyde Taylor, Sr., of Bunn, NC; very best friend, Rochelle Jackson of 49 years of Somerville, SC; other special friends include Pat Somerville, Gloria Lee and Lillian Wade and host of grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives and friends.
