Ivan Rochon Taylor of New Haven, CT was called home to rest on November 1st, 2023. He was a treasured son, brother, father, significant other and friend.
Ivan was born in Richmond, VA on January 16th, 1990. He graduated with a high school diploma from New Haven Adult Education, and loved working in food service and landscaping. He had a passion for metal and woodwork, gardening and being an all-around handyman. All who knew Ivan loved him. He was incredibly caring, supportive and personable. There was nothing Ivan liked better than an interesting conversation with a good, or new, friend; he could have an engaging conversation with just about anyone. He was deeply committed to his family and was always there to brighten the lives of others with his witty jokes and insightful stories. Ivan will be missed deeply but never forgotten. Ivan is predeceased by his mother, Yvette Taylor of New Haven, CT; his grandmother, Dietria Taylor of Richmond, VA; his uncle, Marvin Hamilton Jr. of Petersburg, VA; and his cousin, Jordan Taylor Richardson of Manassas, VA. Ivan leaves to cherish his memory his chosen father, Melvin Montague; a sister, India Taylor; two brothers, Timothy and Thomas Montague; a son, Jayden Taylor; a daughter, Halayna Taylor; two step-children, Christina and Christian Harper; two nephews, Anthony and Aiden Messina; a niece, Asia Messina; long-time girlfriend, Natali Sanders; an aunt, Angel Taylor-King (Walter); cousins, Shakia Vaughn (ST), Marvin Hamilton III and Orlanzo Gillis Jr.; and an abundance of cousins and friends.
