Dora Anne Elizabeth Council of Hamden, Connecticut transitioned from this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 while sleeping. Ms. Council was born, lived and learned in North Carolina, Baltimore, Maryland and Connecticut. She finished high school in New Haven. Ms. Council eventually married Leroy Moore Sr. They moved to California, then Arizona. She was born on January 14, 1935 to Earnest Council Sr. and Beulah Mitchell Council who are both deceased. She was a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught bible study in the small chapel and attended Sunday school. At the age 76 Dora earned her associate degree from Gateway Community College where her favorite study was a physiology course on aging. She would always catch the bus and never listen to a honking horn. She gave out bible verses, she gave out many bible scriptures and always had a song. No talking in the sanctuary but many enjoyed her one on ones. Ms. Council will be remembered by her two sons: Jimmy-Lee Moore (Joyce), Leroy Moore Jr. and daughter Lynnette Maria Moore-Booker (Timothy). There are nine grandchildren: N’koy Moore (Natalie), Lewanna Moore, Zena (Mary-Judith)Moore, Lori Booker, Laquisha Booker, Kathy Booker, Loretta Booker, Michael-Lee Booker and Timothy Booker Jr. There are Twenty-three great grandchildren, and a host of great and grand nieces and nephews. Ms. Council was the last of eight children, she was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Clark(New Haven, CT), Audrey Knox (Hamden, CT) Elenora Blizzard (New Haven, CT) brothers Calvin Council (Baltimore, MD), Edward Council (Red Bank, NJ), Ernest Council and Leonard Council (both of New Haven).
